Welcome to Ledger's Setup Guide

Congratulations on your new Ledger device! Whether you're setting up a Ledger Nano X, Nano S Plus, or another model, this guide will help you step-by-step through the initial setup process. By the end of this guide, you'll be ready to start managing your cryptocurrencies securely and confidently.

Step 1: Unbox Your Device

Carefully unbox your Ledger device. You should find the device itself, a USB cable, and a recovery sheet. It’s important to keep the recovery sheet in a secure location, as it contains essential backup information in case you ever need to restore your device.

Step 2: Install the Ledger Live App

Before you begin the setup process, download the Ledger Live application on your desktop or mobile device. This will be your control center for managing your Ledger device. Make sure to download it only from the official Ledger website for safety purposes.

Step 3: Connect Your Device

Using the included USB cable, connect your Ledger device to your computer or mobile device. Your device should power on automatically. If it doesn't, try using a different USB port or cable.

Step 4: Choose a PIN Code

Once your device is powered on, you will be prompted to create a PIN code. This PIN will protect your device from unauthorized access. Choose a secure PIN code and make sure you can remember it, as you'll need it each time you use your Ledger device.

Step 5: Write Down Your Recovery Phrase

Your recovery phrase is a 24-word backup key that can restore your wallet in case your Ledger device is lost, stolen, or damaged. Write it down on the provided recovery sheet and store it in a safe place. Never share this phrase with anyone.

Step 6: Set Up Your Wallet

With your device set up, it's time to create your first wallet. Open Ledger Live and follow the prompts to add a cryptocurrency account. You can choose from a wide range of supported cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many more.
